Our Team



Rachel Michaelov is the Founder & CEO of Empire Tax Professionals. She has been a Licensed tax specialist for over a decade and is a true Entrepreneur at heart. She once worked for a CPA firm where she managed 20 accountants.

Since then she became a NTPI Fellow and helps clients to correspond directly with the IRS to resolve disputes and notices. Her specialties lie in helping small business owners optimize their taxes and achieve financial success. Rachel is constantly acquiring further certifications to master her craft and has been mentored by the very best throughout her climb to success. Now, she carries over her own skill set, and coupled her coaching career with her tax specialization.

She is happily married and is the mother of 4 beautiful boys.

Senior Manager

Cassie graduated from Dowling College with a Bachelors in Accounting. She received her masters degree in taxation from St John’s University. She has over 8 years of experience within the accounting field, including working for US top 100 accounting firms.

She has been a Licensed Enrolled Agent (EA) Since 2016 and currently studying for the CPA Exam in NY. She specializes in manufacturing, construction, e-commerce,  tax preparation and managing our high net worth accounting clients.

She grew up in Long Island and in her free time she enjoys traveling and bartending. She is a dog mom to two corgis and is a die hard New Yankees Fan.



Senior Supervisor

Paul joined Empire Tax Professionals in December 2015. He has over 30 years of experience in public and private accounting.

Paul is an Enrolled Agent, licensed to practice in all 50 states, he has an Accounting degree from Pace University in New York. He loves to help our clients with business and personal taxes. He has extensive experience in personal, corporate, sales, and payroll taxes, and accounting. He has represented many clients in federal and state tax examinations.

Paul has worked at public accounting firms, as a controller and operations manager of a publicly traded telecommunications company, and accounting manager for both construction and construction management companies; and has run his own successful business in telecommunications.

Onboarding Specialist

Nairoby graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and double major in Business, Management and Finance. She is a CPA candidate with a total of 4 years of experience within accounting firms. She is currently pursuing her EA license.

She is fluent in Spanish.



Senior Accountant

Matt has an extensive background in bookkeeping and accounting, 20 years to be exact – 15 years in private accounting and 5 years in public. During his tenure, he has held many positions within the accounting cycle such as Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Full Charge Bookkeeper and Controller.

He enjoys teaching his clients how to use QuickBooks advanced skills in all QB platforms. He also assists the team with Payroll and sales tax processing.

He is a Queens native and is loving husband and father of 2.



Junior Accountant

Yessica graduated from Lehman College in 2016 with a BS in Accounting and BA in Computer Information Systems. She started her accounting journey at H&R block back in 2014 and later joined Empire Tax Professionals in 2017. She is our resident wiz when it comes to individual and corporate returns.

She grew up in Queens, NY and is fluent in Spanish.



Junior Accountant

Krystal graduated from the College of New Jersey with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accountancy, Minor in Management and Japanese Studies. She is also a proud member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated.

She was born in NY and raised in NJ. She has an extensive background in Management and Sales (specifically in Retail Management, Real Estate Sales, General Sales).

She enjoys traveling, reading, spending time with her fun loving family and her puppy Katie.




Heather Stokes has over ten years’ experience in bookkeeping and is well versed in day-to-day financials, end of month closings, and end of year closings.

She is a QuickBooks Online pro-advisor and is Project+ certified. Accounting is her passion, and she looks forward to going to work each day.


Office Administrator

Tara graduated from UCLA with a BA in Accounting with minor in creative writing. She is also a Certified paralegal.

Tara has extensive experience within bookkeeping, payroll and job estimating within the construction industry. She prides herself in having exceptional organizational skills, and Quickbooks experience.
